Venture Field Guide

As a lifelong journaler, I was geeked to get a journal design request from the Ross +Impact Studio at University of Michigan. The journals are used by students in +Impact’s entrepreneurship development course, helping the students think through how to prioritize competing demands of life, work, school, and side businesses. When I first read through the prompts, I couldn’t help but think how much these journaling prompts would’ve helped me when I first started out as a designer ‘on the side.’

The +Impact team was thrilled to have a chance to design something that wasn’t in the requisite University of Michigan maize and blue, so we landed on a brand style that felt clean and sophisticated, with small splashes of color throughout. The team at Print Tech in Ann Arbor helped bring the hard copy vision to life with a soft coated cover stock and thick text paper. It doesn’t translate through pictures, but this journal is a joy to hold in your hands!
