The story behind Orso
Work hard; make good stuff
The name Orso was inspired by the Orsolinis, Kari’s Italian side of the family.
* orso * bear
* lini * little
From Grand Nonno Steve’s restaurant in Richmond, to Nonno Gino’s restaurant in Kalamazoo, to our Aunties and Uncles today, Orsolini-ness is rooted in rolling your sleeves up, working hard, and making good stuff.
The Orsolinis are a family of hustlers who work hard to put food on the table, but also make sure that food is * chef’s kiss * good.
The team behind Orso
Kari Paine
Owner, Lead Designer
She likes to say the first time she designed a brand was in 4th grade for her campaign to city council for adding a dog park to her home town. But she started for real for real as a paid brand designer in 2014. Since then, she’s designed for orgs and companies small and large.
Sumana Palle
Collaborator
There’s nothing Sumana *can’t* do. She’s highly skilled in marketing, project management, and social development. Oh and she’s a wizard at writing a good email. Sumana worked in tech for 5 years as a marketing manager at Amazon before pivoting to the social sector, where she manages web design and marketing strategy for nonprofits focused on natural resource development and water conservation. You can see some of her badass work at Saltwater Stories.
