NewHaptics
NewHaptics is a company born out of the belief that all people deserve the right to educational opportunities and independence, regardless of their ability to see. My job was to create a visual identity for the company to bring it from the depths of a basement research lab to a friendly, public-facing brand. Through the logo, brand, verbal, and website design I created a launch pad for the company to go public and promote their work making braille tablets.
Process
NewHaptics is rapidly expanding to meet an essential need in the blind community: creating an affordable, reliable tablet device. Through interviews and research, I crafted a suite of values that reflect the core drivers of the company’s mission and purpose:
Impactful: NewHaptics believes in bold ideas advancing revolutionary change in the blind and visually impaired community.
Connected: NewHaptics believes that technology should be created alongside the communities it serves and be responsive to their needs.
Dependable: NewHaptics is committed to building tools that are cost-effective and dependable, making digital information reliably available to everyone.
Logo, typography, colors, and graphic styling reflect these values to build an approachable, professional style.
Product Renderings
I also designed a suite of graphic renderings with the braille tablets in action to paint a picture of how these devices could change the landscape of braille education.
Logo Animation
I also produced a logo animation and video footage of NewHaptics devices in action. This logo animation was inspired by the mechanics of the braille dots in NewHaptics devices, which raise and lower dynamically.
